Documents required for the Z China Work Visa
To obtain a Z china work visa, you must prepare the following documents:
- A passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining and two blank pages + any old passport with valid Chinese visa if any
- Visa application form
- Recent passport sized photo
- TEFL/TESOL Certificate authenticated by Chines Embassy/Consulate (applicable only for teaching positions)
- All academic qualifications
- Work Permit - An applicant need to submit one of the following work permits obtained through their employers in China:
- Foreigners Work Permit- issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the PRC
- Registration Certificate of Resident Representative Offices of enterprises of foreign countries – issued by Chinese authorities of industrial and commercial administration.
- An approval document for commercial performances – issued by the Chinese government authorities for Cultural Affairs
- Invitation letter to foreign national for Offshore Petroleum Operations – issued by National Offshore Oil Corporation.
- Medical examination report froman authorized hospital
- Reference letter
- Non-criminal history check

Visa Application Process
The Chinese Embassy do not accept visa applications online, by fax or through the mail or post, it must be submitted in person or you can take help from an authorized agent. Follow the steps below to successfully apply for your China Work Visa:
- Determine the type of China visa you need
- Gather all the required documents as per the list mentioned above
- Complete your visa application form
- Submit your visa application to the Chinese Visa Application center (CVASC) in your region.
- Once you have successfully submitted all your documents along with your application, you will receive a receipt with your visa application reference no. You must pay your visa fee, once your application has been approved and processed.
- It’s time to wait for your visa as per the standard processing time.
Validity
The Chinese Z visa allows you to stay for the duration of 30 days from the date of arrival in China, during this time you must seek a Temporary Residence Permit for the duration of your contract, from a minimum of 90 days to a maximum of 5 years.
