To successfully recieve a Malaysia Visa, one needs to understand the rules for specific Visas. Due to differet types of Visas available, the Visa process can get confusing for Malaysia. Here are the rules and regulations for eVisa:
- eVISA is an online application platform that enables foreign nationals to apply for an electronic visa to enter Malaysia at the comfort of their convenience. The applicant must take a print of the eVisa copy to present the same to the Immigration official.
- The eVisa is equivalent to the visa, but no label or stamp is placed on the passport. The eVisa is processed online and linked to your passport number. Applicants are required to print a copy of the eVisa and present it at the port of entry.
- An approved eVISA is valid to enter Malaysia for three (3) months following the date of issue.
- Travellers from eligible countries can obtain a single-entry visa for up to 30 days. Indian nationals, however, get a 15- or 30-days multiple entry visa, i.e. you are allowed to stay in Malaysia up to the maximum of 30 days. If you stay longer than 30 days, you may be subjected to an administrative fine and your entry into Malaysia might be forbidden for a certain period of time.
- The grant of a Single or Multiple entry journey visa will depend upon the travel itinerary and trip duration.
- A Malaysian eVisa cannot be extended and you must leave the country before your visa expires.
- The following documents are required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia entry checkpoints:
- Your eVISA printout
- Sufficient funds (Cash/ Travellers Cheque/Debit or Credit Cards) to cover expenses during your stay at Malaysia
- confirmed Returned flight ticket
- Proof of accommodation
- Boarding pass
- Documents needed for the Malaysia visa application is your passport with validity of at least 6 months, scanned coloured photograph, visa application form, confirmed air tickets and hotel reservation or proof of accommodation. Birth certificate for minors below 14 years of age is a mandatory document.
- The eVisa takes 3 to 4 days for processing after submission of documents to the Malaysian Embassy. This only applies to working days and doesn’t include weekends and holidays.
- The eVISA allows the traveler to enter Malaysia via all gazette entry/exit points. There are no restrictions unlike the eNTRI visa.
- Malaysia eVisa does not guarantee you to enter Malaysia. It is subject to the approval of the Department of Immigration Malaysia at the Malaysia entry exit point.
