Financial Instability
Financial instability is a certain reason for the denial of visas. You must be able to show adequate amount of proof of funds to support yourself financially in the US. Financial resources include bank statements with adequate balance, Income tax returns, salary slips, property documents and any other investment documents.
Selecting the wrong type of Visa
Your paperwork must match the major purpose of visit. For example, you cannot choose the tourist purpose of the visit while your paperwork indicates business purposes or vice versa. Hence, please check the form and paperwork properly before the document submission.
Validity of your Passport
Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months from the date of travel. Submitting invalid or damaged passports are often a common reason for US visa rejection. Also, ensure your passport has minimum two blank pages.
Reason to return back to home country not strong enough
If you’re going to visit, you have to prove that you are definitely going to return to your home country. Inability to convince the Embassy of your return will most likely lead to your US visa getting rejected. Let the Embassy know that you have a job, a family and maybe some estate and properties that you manage and require your attention back in the country.
Insufficient or Incorrect Information
Providing incorrect or missing information in the application form will result into a US visa rejection. The Ds-160 form in no manner should be left blank, even if the segment does not apply to you. Every detail counts! In addition, you will need to provide documentary evidence. So, ensure that the information you fill matches the documentary proof, such as address, passport number, date of birth, employment details etc.
Overstay or violated US visa conditions on your previous visit
If you have experienced some legal and immigration issues on your previous stay in the US, then the consular can reject your visa this time. Overstaying the limit of visa or not following the designated itinerary or spending periods of time in the US without authorization are few reasons for US visa rejection.
Visa Denials Based on Criminal Record
If you have a criminal record or history of espionage or any links with radical groups, there is a strong chance of you facing a US Visa rejection. Not every crime willresult to denial, but some can,and the list can be difficult to interpret.
Not Fully Prepared for the Interview
Having a casual attitude towards the visa interview only makes your application look weak. Moreover, not bringing all the required documents to the appointment can cause a further delay in your case. Though the Consular officer may not ask for the documents, but it is always advisable to carry all your documents along.
Visa Denials Based on Fraud
Looking at the rigid US visa requirements, some applicants are tempted to simply lie about, or cover up certain facts. For example, they may deny a past criminal conviction, or that they have US citizen family members in the United States. The US Embassy follows a strict verification process and any lie or fraud, if discovered will lead to a denial.
