Will I need a passport?
Passports are needed when travelling outside of your home country. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the conclusion of your trip.
Will I need a visa?
You are responsible for obtaining all necessary visas prior to the departure of your trip. Depending on your nationality, you may need visas to enter certain countries included on your trip. Obtaining visas can take up to six weeks prior to your departure. It is strongly advised that you consult your travel agent and the local consulate or embassy of the country you are visiting well in advance to determine which visas they require.
When will I receive my booking documents?
Travel documents are usually sent 15 days prior to your trip's departure.
Will I need to pack formal clothes?
This will depend on not only your personal preference, but the destinations you’re visiting and the time of year you’ll be travelling. We’d recommend bringing at least one smart outfit for special evenings.
Will I need electrical adaptors?
Electrical plugs and outlets differ throughout the world. We recommend bringing a universal travel adaptor that’s suitable for the countries you are travelling to.
Will I be able to get laundry done?
Most hotels do offer a laundry service and in some cities laundromats are also available. However, it’s sensible to try and pack enough clothing to avoid having to do laundry, as it can sometimes be costly or inconvenient.
Can I drink the water in the countries I visit?
In Western Europe, Scandinavia, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, it’s fine to drink the water from a fresh-supply tap. For other countries, your travel director will let you know if it’s okay.
What is a travel director?

What is visa?
A travel visa is a travel document which conditionally allows a person to enter or leave the region for which it is issued. A visa application in advance of arrival gives the country a chance to consider the applicant's circumstance, such as financial security, reason for applying, and details of previous visits to the country. A visitor may also be required to undergo and pass security and/or health checks upon arrival at the border.
Do I need a visa for travel?
It depends. An Indian citizen will get benefit from many favorable travel arrangements with countries around the world. For several countries, you will need a valid travel visa in order to enter.
What are the different types of visa?
Transit visa- for passing through the country to a destination outside that country
Short-stay or visitor visa- for short visits to the host country
Tourist visa - for a limited period of leisure travel, no business activities allowed
Visa for medical reasons- for undertaking diagnostics or a course of treatment in the host country's hospitals
Business visa - for engaging in commerce in the country

Electronic visa - the visa is stored in a computer and is electronically tied to the passport number; no label, sticker or stamp is placed in the passport before travel
How do I get a travel visa?
By submitting basic documents like:
- Valid passport
- Completed visa application
- Passport/visa size photos
- Payment of required fees
- In some cases, additional identification such as a driver’s license, birth certificate, or bank statement showing that you the necessary funds to complete your journey
- Some countries require a copy of your travel ticket
Does it cost to have a visa processed?
It depends. An Indian citizen will get benefit from many favorable travel arrangements with countries around the world and the fee may be waived off. In other circumstances, one will have to pay for the visa.
How long will the process take to process visa?
This depends on the country you’re visiting. Some visas will be issued the same day; others can take weeks (or even months) to process.
My foreign holiday is 45 days away. Can I buy foreign exchange now from Akbarholidays?
At Akbarholidays, you can get foreign exchange up to 60 days in advance of your personal/business trip. In case, you do not travel during that period, the foreign exchange should be surrendered to Akbarholidays.
Do I need to confirm my booking?
No, you don’t. If you really want to, though, contact by email on enquiry@akbartravels.com or you can call us on 022 40743444 (10:00 AM to 08:00 PM) to confirm your reservation.
How do I know if my booking was successful?
You will receive an email and SMS confirming your services booked with Akbarholidays.
What if I don’t get a confirmation at the time of booking?
If a confirmation page doesn’t display once you complete your booking, check your email for a confirmation. If you don’t get an email confirmation within fifteen minutes, let us know at enquiry@akbartravels.com and we’ll send you your confirmation details. You could alternatively also log into your account with Akbarholidays and check your booking status

I didn’t get an email confirmation. What do I do?
If you don’t receive an email after making a reservation, it could be that you have mentioned wrong email address or your internet service provider must have blocked the email thinking it was spam. Check your spam folder and add our email address enquiry@akbartravels.com to your address book so that it doesn’t get filtered out next time. You could also check your booking status and details by logging into your account with Akbarholidays
How can I be in touch with my loved ones while on tour?
You can purchase an international sim card and use it to keep in touch with your loved ones. Alternately you can also purchase local sim card or calling cards. You will need to carry your own internationally compatible mobile handsets on tour. However, we are not responsible for charges levied by the international / local authorities.
Can I get medicines on a tour if required?
We advise you to carry all your medicines in sufficient quantities while on tour. Medicines can be made available while on tour but doctor’s prescription is compulsory.
Will I need any vaccinations?
This will depend on your trip destinations. Speak to your travel agent or doctor to find out if vaccinations are required for the countries you will be visiting. If you’re taking medication or suffer from any form of illness, ensure you have an adequate supply of medication before departing for your holiday. Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for peace of mind before and during your trip. It’s important that you protect yourself in case of trip cancellations, baggage delays or loss of baggage, and medical expenses.

Can I book without registering?
No, booking cannot be allowed without registration as a security measure. You will need to at least use e-mail address which automatically registers you. It is advisable that you register. This will enable you to access all of your bookings anytime and make changes if any.
What if I’ve forgotten my password?
All you need to do is click on forgot password link and we will send you a temporary password on your registered email id. Remember to change your password once you log in with the temporary password you receive.

What does holiday package means?
It’s a product which takes care of your flights, hotels, sightseeing, travel insurance, transfers and visa’s if required into one price. However it’s not necessary every holiday package includes all above services, it completely depends upon the inclusion and exclusion of the package you are planning to book.
Holiday package needs to be booked how many days prior to the departure?
It is always advisable to book your tour well in advance of your choice to confirm your hotel reservations.
Can I book a group?
We take the hassle out of booking a group holiday – and we offer some great discounts for eight or more people. Groups of eight or more people will receive 5% off of their trip, and larger groups will save even more.
I am not able to book online. What should I do?
There could be some technical issue because of which your booking is not happening. In case you are stuck at a page and are not able to move forward, please take a screen shot and send it across to our customer support team at enquiry@akbartravels.com. I've lost my ticket. What should I do now?
A copy of the ticket would have been sent to you by e-mail when you booked it. Please take a printout of that mail. If you have not received the ticket e-mail, you can drop us an email on enquiry@akbartravels.com or you can call us on 022 40743444 (10:00 AM to 08:00 PM) and our executive will re-send you a copy by email.
Do I require a passport to travel on an international holiday?
Yes, you need passport with minimum validity of 6 months from the date of travel. Validity of passport may vary depending upon the country you visit. What if I want to request for airport transfers or other complimentary items?

Can I modify my travel plan once the booking is done?
You can modify your travel plans by informing the sales staff about it. Additional charges are applicable for cancelling the old booking and making the new arrangements & these charges will be borne by you.
How many days in advance should I book?
You can book your tour as per your convenience ensuring that you have enough time to apply for the required visas. However, the earlier you book, the better. Booking early (2 months or more before the departure date) is recommended so that there is adequate time for visa processing.
Is it possible for me to extend my stay at any of the destinations that are part of the itinerary?
Yes you can extend their stay by informing the sales staff at the time of booking or at least one month prior to the tour / before the journey tickets are issued. Additional charges for the changes will be applicable and these have to be borne by you over and above the tour price. Once the tour departs, no changes can be made.
Do your package price include taxes and fees?
Our airfares include all government-mandated taxes and fees. Some airlines may charge additional fees for things like bags, flight changes, and certain ways of checking in for your flight. Please check with the site you’re booking with to see which fees may apply.
If there are children travelling with us, do they stay for free?
You will need to enter the number of children (2 to 12 years of age) along with the number of adults while making a search for your hotel. Our search results will display accordingly. If the children stay for free there will be no extra bed provided by the hotel. Children above the age of 12 are considered as adults.
Will I receive a confirmation for my booking?
Yes. You will receive an email and SMS confirmation along with the hotel voucher on the email id entered at the time of booking. Soft copies of the hotel voucher received on your mobile will also be accepted by your hotel in case you are unable to carry a physical print out.
Will I get some free time to be on my own while travelling on a group tour?
Usually, in group tours, the entire day is spent in visiting the sightseeing places. At some places you may have some time at leisure or for shopping. However for most of the days you will get some time on your own only when you return to the hotel.
Does the group tour involve a lot of walking?
Generally, you are required to walk while at sightseeing places, airports and parks. Tour manager will instruct you from time to time.
Will the tour be hectic?
Most of our group tours have a medium to fast pace, as we need to cover maximum sightseeing places in limited time/days.
Where is my confirmation email?
Akbar holidays does not provide confirmation emails for flights because we do not provide flight booking. Although you search flights through Akbarholidays, you are always redirected to another site to book your flight with the airline or supplier. You’ll receive an email confirmation from them. If you do not receive a confirmation, we recommend that you call the provider directly.
Do I have to wake up early everyday while on tour?
We usually follow 6-7-8 schedule for international tours I.E. Wake up call at 6 am, breakfast at 7 am and departure at 8 am. However, the schedule may change depending on the situation.
How do I know if my booking was successful?
After you have completed the transaction, you will receive an email confirmation from us for your booking. Please carry a print out of the confirmation ticket at the time of travel.
I have put in the wrong age/ my name is not spelt right.

How many persons are allowed to stay in one room?
Generally only two persons are allowed to stay in a double occupancy room. However; most hotels let additional guests (up to a permissible number only) stay in the same room at an extra charge. It is advisable that you check with the hotel to avoid cancellation due to overbooking.

I want to book air conditioned room only, how will I come to know which room has air condition?
Room categories are always mentioned on website, in case if it’s not mentioned, it means hotel has air conditioned rooms only. If you still want to re-confirm you can reach us on 022 40743444 (10:00 AM to 08:00 PM) or may get in touch with the hotel directly.
Can I book three adults in one room?
Generally most of the hotels allow guest to book 3 adults in one room by giving an extra bed, however we request you to always reconfirm with our customer support or hotel before booking.
What if I need a specific type of hotel room (nonsmoking, wheelchair friendly, etc.)?
You can contact our customer support team by dropping an email on enquiry@akbartravels.com or you can call us on 022 40743444 (10:00 AM to 08:00 PM) with your request and we’ll do our best to get you what you ask for. However, your request is ultimately subject to availability when you arrive at the hotel.
Can we accommodate more than 2 guests in one double room?
Most hotels allow additional guests to stay in a room by charging extra charge as long as the room doesn’t exceed the maximum number of guests allowed per room. If you book a room that cannot accommodate your group, the hotel may cancel your reservation or require that you book additional rooms. If you have doubts, you can check directly with your hotel for their extra guest charges and the maximum number of people allowed in the room you’ve booked.
Do I need to carry the hotel voucher to check in to my hotel?
Yes. You will need to have a physical or soft copy of your hotel voucher in order to check-in.

Will it be safe to keep belongings in the hotel room while I am out sightseeing?
We advise you not to carry any valuables while on tour. However, if you must do so, in many hotels, they provide safe deposit lockers. You are required to take care of the locker keys or remember the password of the locker system. Please note that if the key is misplaced or password is forgotten, a fine is levied. We are not responsible for loss of any valuables from the hotel / locker / while travelling.

We select our hotels for their quality, impeccable service and comfort, with the majority of them having air-conditioning.

How much time will it take to get the refund?
Refund usually gets credited anytime between 6-7 working days for normal cancellation. If it has been more than 6-7 working days, please cross check with the bank. You can also call us on 022 40743444 (10:00 AM to 08:00 PM) to check on your refund status. For partial cancellation we cannot define the time frame as it depends from case to case.
How long does it take to process this refund?
Our support team credits the refund within 6-7 working days for normal cancellation. However it might reflect in your card statement only on the next billing cycle for certain banks. If I cancel my booking, how soon can I get a refund?
We take at least 7 to 10 working days to process refunds for bookings cancelled online. Your bank may debit its own separate charges from refunds made to your credit card or bank account.
What if I arrive late and miss a part of the trip?
We regret that no refunds can be made for absences from a trip, including experiences such as missed meals or sightseeing.
How do I check the status of my refund once I have cancelled my booking?

If I am on tour and want to cancel my holiday, how much refund will I get?
If in case you want to cancel your services on tour, there won’t be any refund credited to your account.
How will I get my money back after a cancellation? How long it will take to process a refund?
We will credit the money back to the same mode of payment you used while making the booking. Normally, it may take maximum 14 working days to process the refund. It will reflect in your account statement depending upon your bank.
What are the payment options available on Akbarholidays.com?
Payment for bookings made on Akbarholidays.com can be made through your credit / debit card, net banking or cash card. Akbarholidays.com accepts MasterCard and visa credit / debit cards. All payments must be in Indian rupees. What goes wrong?
Well, for a booking to be made, it is necessary that you are redirected back to our website from the bank website for it is important for us to know that the payment has been made. If during this stage something goes wrong (I.E., power failure, or a slow internet connection) and the connection breaks down, our system won't know that the payment has been made and your account debited. In such a scenario the booking won't be generated. However, you need not despair; do call any one of our call center number, and we would process a confirmation or a refund depending on the scenario.

What is CVV number on my credit card?
