It is said that she had a love affair with the son of a fisherman but for not being allowed to marry her lover she jumped off a cliff. Aguada Fort
Built by the Portuguese colonial rulers, the Aguada fort derives its name from the water spring that originated within its premises. ‘Agua’ in Portuguese means water and this is how the fort derived its name “Aguada”. A freshwater spring within the fort premises provides water supply to the ships. The fort also holds the pride of being the first ever lighthouse in Asia.

One of the most spectacular architecture in Goa is the St. Augustine Church, and the major attraction of the place are the ruins of the church. Basilica of Bom Jesus
The Bom Jesus Basilica is among the other popular attractions of Goa. The magnificent edifice is a fine example of Jesuit architecture which has also been declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Basilica of Bom Jesus preserves the remains of St. Francis Xavier, who died on a sea voyage to China. The church has preserved his body in an airtight glass coffin and once in every 10 years, the church allows the visitors to see his body.
