Many people refer to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, as the "Paris of the East." This lovely city is not just one of Eastern Europe's most significant cultural hubs, but it is also the location of multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are included in our Budapest tour packages!

Budapest, which spans the Danube River, is renowned for its hot springs, some of which have been utilised therapeutically since prehistoric times. In fact, there are so many things to do in Budapest on our Budapest tour packages that you should plan to stay there for a few days or more to experience it fully. The city's bustling culture and entertainment scene, which features everything from street buskers to classical performances in gorgeous churches, as well as its impressive architecture and poignant memories of the 20th-century past, are among its most well-known attractions included in our trip to Budapest from India cost!

Budapest is also a shopper's dream, offering everything from the classic goods and foodstuffs in the opulent old Central Market Hall to Vaci Street, known for its blend of high-end boutique shops and well-known brand names.

With sweltering summers and bitterly cold winters, Budapest exhibits a different appearance with each passing season. In the warmer months while on our Budapest trip from India, city life spills outside onto restaurant patios, parks, and even Danube beaches, while the darker, colder months are more about culture and cosiness. The months of autumn are ideal for hiking, and the blossom-filled spring is in between.

But Budapest is a city where there is always something to do, no matter when you visit with our Budapest packages. Just go to a museum if the weather is too gloomy for a walk around the Buda Hills. Enter one of the city's renowned hot spas when walking becomes too difficult due to the snow. The finest times of year to visit Budapest with our cheap trips to Budapest are listed below:

  • May through September and December are prime months.

If you prefer festivals, the pleasant summer months of May through September are the best time to visit with our India to Budapest package. Additionally, it's the busiest time of year for tourism, which means hot weather and a rise in cost. The vibrant Sziget Festival, which is held in August on Buda Island, is arguably the most well-known celebration in the city, but there is a full schedule of activities from spring to early autumn.

Select from the Jewish Art Days event, Night of the Museums, Budapest Pride, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the Budapest Wine event as the seasons change in the spring, summer, and autumn, respectively.

December, when Budapest's enchanting Christmas markets are in full flow, is the other high month. If you intend to go during a peak season month with our Budapest family vacation packages, make sure to reserve lodging well in advance.

  • The ideal months to spend time outside are March, April, and October.

It's still possible to enjoy life outdoors in Budapest with our Budapest Hungary tour package in the spring and early autumn, but you also miss the stifling summer heat and the peak tourist season crowds. In the stunning gardens and parks of Budapest, blossoming fruit trees bring a splash of colour to March and April. The hiking trails in the Buda Hills are particularly lovely in the autumn because of the rusty golden leaves.

  • To avoid crowds, go in November, January, and February.

In Budapest, the months before and after the holiday celebrations are gloomy, chilly, and devoid of the festive atmosphere you'll encounter around Christmas. The good news is that now is the perfect time to visit with our cheap Budapest holiday packages if you want to find a great hotel deal! Budapest has a variety of museums, theatres, symphony halls, vibrant nightlife, and other indoor activities, so even in chilly weather, there is much to do.

  • There may be a lot of tourists in July.

When classes are out for the summer, residents rush to Lake Balaton to cool down while tourists from around the world swarm Budapest. Make travel arrangements for the first weekend in July to attend Budapest Pride, which includes the renowned yearly Pride Parade in addition to a week of LGBTIQ+ cultural events and parties.

Budapest Pride is a major event. You can now experience the beauty of it by booking Budapest package deals with us at www.akbartravels.com!

Whatever your preferred months of visiting with our Budapest all-inclusive deals are, get the most out of your trip to Budapest with our guide to the finest sights here!

  1. Buda Castle & Castle Hill

Budapest's Castle Hill (Várhegy), which juts out over the Danube, is home to several of the capital's most significant mediaeval structures and museums. The Buda fortress (Budavári Palota), a vast 200-room palace that replaced a 13th-century fortress constructed to defend the bastion from Mongol and Tartar invasions, tops the list of these spectacular buildings included in our Budapest travel package.

Although severely damaged during World War II, much of the exterior and some internal portions have been repaired, and the building is now home to a number of significant museums. These include the Hungarian National Gallery in the main wing and the Budapest History Museum all included in our Budapest tour packages, which take up four floors in the south wing.

A bronze monument of Prince Eugene of Savoy, a hero of the Turkish attacks on the city, is mounted and stands in front of the castle, overlooking the Danube. Castle Hill is interesting to explore for its Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque structures as well as its mediaeval alleyways. UNESCO has designated the entire historic complex as a World Heritage Site.

Buda Castle, like much of the city, is magnificently lit at night, and the castle courtyards are open every day of the week for you to experience it with our Budapest vacation packages! The rebuilt historical Castle Funicular Railway departs from the Buda end of the Chain Bridge and travels to the castle.

  1. The Hungarian Parliament Building

The area around the Országház, Hungary's pleasingly designed Parliament building, is a highlight of a stroll through the city's charming cobbled lanes with our cheap Budapest holidays. It is possibly one of the architecturally most appealing areas of the city, along with its neighbours the Ministry of Agriculture and the Museum of Ethnography all included in our trip to Budapest from India cost!

This Neo-Gothic structure, which is the third-largest parliament building in the world, was opened in 1886 to commemorate the nation's 1,000th birthday. (At the time, Hungary was a component of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.) There are 691 rooms in this enormous building and 19 kilometres of stairs and hallways.

When the government is not in session, guided tours are offered all included in our Budapest all-inclusive holidays. They last around 45 minutes and feature many of the building's highlights, including the main entrance hall, different lobbies and the Hungarian Crown Jewels. Make your reservations while on our Budapest trip packages as soon as you can because the majority of tickets sell out a week in advance!

  1. St. Stephen's Basilica

The St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent István-bazilika) in Budapest is a well-liked tourist destination on our Budapest packages because of its magnificent architecture, exquisite interior, and expansive views from its dome. Construction on the cathedral, which is dedicated to St. Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian state and the holy monarch of Hungary, started in 1851 but was not finished until 1905 due to a number of setbacks, including the dome's collapse.

The church's priceless mosaics fell from the walls as a result of the war's severe damage to the roof, towers, and exterior walls. The centrepiece of the lavishly decorated interior, however, was successfully restored to its rightful location for you to experience with our Budapest tour packages. The five-part Venetian mosaic, which depicts the allegories of the mass, is the most impressive of these and is located in the sanctuary.

The first monarch of Hungary's mummified right hand is on exhibit behind glass in the chapel to the left of the high altar, making it the most priceless sacred relic in the cathedral.

If you have the time, one of the nicest things to do is to take one of the two lifts up to the cupola for expansive 360-degree views over the city and the Danube all by just booking the best deals on Budapest tour packages with us (or you may climb the 364 stairs). On weekdays, the basilica offers guided tours. Additionally, be sure to look up information on a concert featuring the cathedral's organ and classical music on its website while here with our Budapest travel packages.

  1. Fisherman's Bastion

The majestic Fisherman's Bastion (Halászbástya), which overlooks the Danube, was built in the Middle Ages on the site where the city's fishermen's guild constructed its defence walls. Built between 1895 and 1902, this stunning complex of Neo-Romanesque towers, courtyards, colonnades, and walls is one of the most visited locations in the city on our Budapest holiday packages due to its breathtaking views of both the Danube and the city.

Look for the bronze statue of St. Stephen, the first king of Hungary, riding a horse in the south courtyard while you're here. Scenes from Stephen's life are depicted in the reliefs on the base's sides, which make for an amazing selfie backdrop.

Go to the higher towers or turrets for more fantastic photo opportunities. A minor entrance fee is charged which is all included in our Budapest all-inclusive holidays package, but it helps keep that area of the site less crowded.

  1. Promenade along the Danube

The Danube, called "Duna" in Hungarian, flows through Budapest from north to south and can reach a width of 640 metres in some spots inside the city limits. Strolling along the Danube Promenade (Dunakorzó), a delightful century-old riverbank path between the Elisabeth and Széchenyi Chain Bridges is one of Budapest's best free things to do on our Budapest tour packages.

The Danube Promenade is without a doubt one of the best vantage points on our Budapest package deals to take in views of the city's gorgeous architecture, even though there are numerous locations from which to enjoy views of the majestic river as you promenade its banks (either the Buda or Pest sides, they're both fantastic).

The Cold Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial is likewise located on the banks of the Danube, on its northeastern side, not far from the buildings housing the Hungarian Parliament. It is a sombre and stirring reminder of the Nazi atrocities Hungary endured during World War II and is made up of a series of 60 pairs of steel sculptured shoes honouring Jews who were killed here by the Nazis. You can experience this history while here on our Budapest tour packages.

A boat tour along the Danube is yet another fantastic way to see the city. It is highly recommended to take advantage of the numerous tourist excursions that leave frequently from the landing stages at Vigadó tér on the Pest bank and Bem József tér on the Buda bank. It's entertaining to watch these tough boats struggle against the current as they race down the river from the famed Freedom Bridge.

As an alternative while on our Budapest trip package, you might obtain amazing vistas on the cheap by riding the number 2 tram. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful tram lines in the world, skirting the Danube's eastern bank.

  1. Matthias Church (Church of Our Lady)

A well-known feature on Castle Hill is Matthias Church, often referred to as The Church of Our Lady (Nagyboldogasszony-templom) which is also included in our Budapest packages deals. The spectacular south entryway with its relief depicting the Death of Mary was added in the 1300s after it was finished in 1269.

The church was converted into a mosque from 1541 until 1699 during the Turkish conquest and then decorated in the Baroque style. Numerous important occasions, such as the crowning of King Charles I of Hungary in 1309 and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and his wife Elisabeth (Sissy) as rulers of Hungary, took place there. Franz Liszt wrote his coronation mass in anticipation of this occasion. You can also experience the history of this place by visiting here with our Budapest tour packages!

It is highly recommended to attend the free organ performances held here on select Sunday afternoons (see the website for exact dates).

The Ecclesiastical Art Museum, which houses a collection of sacred relics, stone carvings, and reproductions of the Hungarian crown jewels, is also well worth visiting while on our travel packages to Budapest Hungary. It is situated on the church's mediaeval crypt.

  1. Exploring Gellért Hil

The panoramic Gellért Hill (Gellért-hegy), a 235-meter slab of dolomite that descends sharply to the Danube, is another of Budapest's most notable sights. Several of the city's most well-known medicinal springs originate here along the geological fault line of the hill to supply the Gellért Spa and Rudas Baths, which have drawn tourists from all around since the 13th century. It is also included in our India to Budapest packages!

The Rudas Baths are among the few old Turkish bathhouses from the 1600s still in operation and are one of the few structures from the Turkish occupation still standing.

The Gellért Monument, a memorial to Hungary's renowned and illustrious saint and the Benedictine monk who died in 1046 and for whom the hill is named, is located on the northeastern slope of the hill. It provides stunning vistas of the city while perched high above a man-made waterfall all included in our Budapest package deals. The Liberation Monument was created in 1947 in honour of the Soviet soldiers who lost their lives fighting in World War II, and the Austrians built the Citadel on the peak in 1851.

If you still have the energy, finish by taking a stroll through Jubilee Park while here on our Budapest packages from Mumbai. It has several gorgeous walks, lovely flower beds, and statues that were put there to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the October Revolution.

  1. Great Market Hall

The Great Market Hall, also known as Budapest's Central Market Hall (Nagyvásárcsarnok), is directly across the Freedom Bridge from the Gellért Spa. Its prominent location and roof made of vibrant Zsolnay tiles from the Pécs town make it impossible to miss while on our Budapest vacation packages.

The largest and oldest market in Budapest, which dates back to 1897, is equally fascinating to witness from the inside as it is from the outside, especially if you enjoy people-watching. This well-known indoor marketplace, which spans an area of more than 10,000 square metres and is as massive as any other rail terminal in Europe, is equally popular with locals and visitors due to the abundance of fresh produce, culinary items, and other commodities being exchanged across its many booths. Have it all covered while on our Budapest tour packages!

Feeling hungry? As you continue your exploration, pick up a snack from one of the sellers on the second mezzanine level or a croissant and coffee to go. You can sample typical Hungarian street food there, such as lángos, a delectable deep-fried flatbread topped with cheese, sour cream, and your choice of meat or vegetable toppings.

Although the market is naturally biggest on Saturdays (it is closed on Sundays), you can avoid the heavier crowds by visiting during the week. It opens at 6am, so if you're an early bird, come when you can enjoy seeing the sellers set up and prepare their food for sale.

  1. The Fine Arts Museum

Budapest's most significant art museum, the Museum of Fine Arts (Szépmuvészeti Muzeum), also holds one of the largest collections of Old Master paintings in all of Europe which is obviously also included in our Budapest Hungary vacation packages.

The impressive collection of Italian, Spanish, and Dutch paintings is on display in a 19th-century structure with classical influences that features long rooms for the larger paintings, cabinets for smaller and more personal pieces, as well as architecturally interesting areas like the Renaissance Hall.

The Egyptian Art, Ancient Art, Old Sculpture Gallery, Old Painter Gallery, Modern Collection, and Graphics Collection sections of the museum, which was founded in 1870 when Hungary inherited a rich collection of paintings, drawings, and prints, are among its six outstanding divisions.

Check for current offers at the nearby Palace of Art while here on our Budapest trip packages, which houses numerous temporary exhibitions and is the city's top museum of modern art. (It should be noted that this should not be mistaken with the Palace of Arts, a modern arts complex home to the Ludwig Museum, a collection of contemporary art featuring pieces by Picasso, David Hockney, and several Hungarian Masters.)

  1. The Millennium Monument / Heroes' Square

The enormous Museum of Fine Arts that borders this spacious open area was also designed by Albert Schickedanz, who also created the spectacular Heroes' Square (Hosök tere).

The 36-meter-tall Millennium Monument, which was unveiled in the late 19th century and is topped by an image of the Archangel Gabriel, is among the attractions on our travel packages to Budapest and Hungary. A group of bronze horsemen depicting the conquering Magyar Prince rpád and six of his fellow warriors may be seen surrounding the plinth.

Between the various pillars are colonnades that stretch on either side of the column, and on either side of the column are statues of past Hungarian emperors. Beautiful bronze sculptures by Zala are displayed over the corner pillars.

A monument honouring the Unknown Soldier is located in front of the Millennium Monument. It's a very pleasant location to visit at night with our Budapest family vacation packages when it's illuminated.

  1. State Opera of Hungary

The Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar llami Operaház), which is equally impressive on the inside as it is on the outside, is a must-see when in Budapest with our Budapest trip packages. The building's size alone is spectacular, and since it opened in 1884, it has held a prominent place in the city's calendar of cultural events.

The lavish inside of the structure is just as fascinating as its numerous performances (more on that in a second). The Opera House can accommodate up to 1,300 people in its horseshoe-shaped (and acoustically attractive) auditorium, which is adorned with gorgeous works of art and sculpture by the nation's most notable artists.

The Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hungarian National Ballet both call the Hungarian State Opera House home, so taking in a performance would undoubtedly be the highlight of your Budapest itinerary. Online ticket sales are available for the orchestra's season, which normally runs from September to June. Daily led excursions in English are additionally offered. All of this is included in our Budapest all-inclusive holiday packages!

  1. Margaret Island

Margaret Island, which is located in the Danube and is a nice and picturesque destination to spend some time, is primarily covered in lovely, green parks. The Arpad Bridge in the north and Margaret Bridge in the south connect the island to both sides of Budapest. The island also has a water park, an athletics facility, and a number of beautiful walks and trails.

As a result, it is a highly well-liked amusement area for both residents and visitors travelling with our Budpaest packages from India, with some intriguing mediaeval ruins and a fun Music Fountain on display.

For locals, Margaret Island (Margitsziget), which is only 2.4 kilometres long and 503 metres wide, serves as the primary recreation and healing area in Budapest. Many tourists on our cheap trips to Budapest are drawn to the thermal spring-fed therapeutic baths, the well-maintained gardens and walks, as well as the numerous old building remains.

The Palatinus Baths, a massive spa complex that spans more than 17 acres and contains a bath with artificial waves along with different therapeutic, swimming, and kiddie pools capable of hosting up to 20,000 bathers at a time, is a highlight of each trip.

The charming Rose Garden (Rózsakert), the Union Monument (1972), a metal sculpture by István Kiss in the shape of a flower, the ruins of the Dominican convent where Princess Margaret, the daughter of King Béla IV, once resided, the 51-meter water tower, constructed in 1911, with its excellent viewing platform, and a sizable open-air theatre are some of the other island highlights.

You may also rent bikes here or have dinner at one of the numerous nearby restaurants. Make sure to visit the Margaret Island Musical Fountain with our best deals on travel packages to Budapest Hungary at night for its illuminations!

  1. Széchenyi Thermal Bath

Budapest is renowned across the world for its extraordinary thermal springs, many of which have been used to offer locals and visitors to the city the chance to unwind and revitalise in thermal baths.

The most well-known of these attractions in Budapest is Széchenyi Thermal Bath (Széchenyi gyógyfürdo). It was founded in 1913 and is powered by two thermal springs. It is also the largest facility of its kind in Europe, with 15 indoor pools and three outdoor pools, one of which is ideal for families with children. Be sure to check this out while on our Budapest family vacation packages.

In addition to its swimming pools, visitors can take advantage of its saunas, steam rooms, and spa services like massages. Pay a visit to the baths after sunset for a particular treat. 1. Hungarian National Museum

The magnificent Hungarian National Museum (Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum) included in our Budapest tour packages, which was established in 1802, didn't relocate into its current location until 1847 when it did so in a massive classical structure surrounded by two courtyards. Along with its enormous portico, this building is impressive for its park-like gardens and numerous busts of important persons. It also has a monument to the renowned Hungarian poet János Arany.

The Royal Regalia, notably the famous St. Stephen's Crown with its precious stones and pearls, as well as Hungary's pre- and early history from the Stone Age to Roman times and the early Middle Ages, are among the main exhibits.
