When to apply for the M China visa?
It can usually take 4-5 days to get your M-Visadepending on whether you pay for regular or express service. Rush service (1 day) is only available in cases of extreme urgency, and you must get approval from the Chinese Consular Office. You should not get your China visa too early because it is only valid for up to 6 months from the issue date.
Documentation required to apply for the M visa?
There are several documents required for the M China visa application. Gathering your documents will likely be the only complicated part of the application process. Because you need an invitation letter for an M visa. Hence, you should be vey particular about documentation gathering. The following documents are required for an M visa application:
- Passport, with at least six months validity remaining and two blank pages (if you have another passport with a valid Chinese visa in it, you will need to submit that passport as well);
- Visa application form;
- photo glued to your application form; and
- Business covering letter
- Company Registration certificate
- Business invitation letter from company in China
Business Invitation letter requirements:
The letter should include:
- Information on applicant- full name, gender, date of birth
- Information on the visit- purpose of visit, arrival and departures dates, places to be visited, relations between the applicant and the inviting individual, financial source for expenditure
- Information on the inviting individual- full name, contact number, address, signature
- Company letterhead and company seal/stamp

Visa Application process
One complication with the application process is that you cannot submit your application online, by fax, or through the mail, rather, it must be submitted in person by you or your agent. Below are the steps involved in the application process:
- Determine the type of China visa you need
- Gather all documents as per the checklist provided by the agent
- Complete your visa application form
- Submit your application to the Chinese Visa Application center based on your state of residence. You cannot submit your application online, by fax, or through email. Appointments are not required for submission.
- On successful submission of your documents, you will receive a receipt with your visa application reference no. You must pay your visa fee, once your application has been approved and processed.
- After the standard processing time, receive your China visa.
Validity & Stay period:
The Chinese business visa (M visa) can be issued for 6 months maximum with one, two or multiple entries and 30 days stay for each entry.
Processing time:
The standard processing time is 4 to 5 working days from the time your documents are with the Embassy. The express service will take up to 2 working days. However, not all visa applications can be processed in express.
