After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a full-day tour to Tara Mountain. Located in the western part of Serbia, Tara Mountain is bordered by the deep canyon of the Drina River. In 1981, to protect its natural values, the Parliament of Serbia designated Tara as a national park following extensive research on the area. The mountain has been studied by many scientists, including Josif Pančić, who discovered the endemic conifer species known as Pančićeva Omorika (Picea omorika) in 1875. The region's woods, canyons, and riverbanks preserve traces of prehistoric, ancient, Roman, and Byzantine cultures, including the 13th-century Rača Monastery, a necropolis, and medieval tombstones in Perućac and Rastište, which are part of Serbia's medieval heritage. Additionally, the traditional log houses of the Dinaric Mountains along the banks of the Drina River represent a unique aspect of national heritage. After exploring, we will return to Zlatibor, where you will have free time to relax and unwind. Overnight in Zlatibor.
