Your second day in Egypt, on 1 December, is dedicated to exploring some of Cairo's most iconic sites. After breakfast, you'll set off on a guided tour to witness the grandeur of the Pyramids of Giza, the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. Standing at the foot of the pyramids, you'll marvel at the ingenuity and scale of these ancient tombs, built over 4,500 years ago for Egypt’s pharaohs. Next, you'll meet the mysterious Sphinx, a massive limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, guarding the pyramids.
From there, you'll visit the Papyrus Institute, where you’ll get a live demonstration of how ancient Egyptians made papyrus paper, one of the earliest writing materials in human history. The institute also offers beautifully crafted artworks and papyrus souvenirs that you can purchase as a memento of your visit.
Next, you'll head to a Perfume Factory, where the ancient art of extracting and crafting natural fragrances is still alive. Egypt has a long history with perfumery, and this stop offers you a chance to explore unique, authentic scents that have been perfected for millennia.
The day concludes with a visit to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo’s most famous market. Here, you can wander through its narrow alleys and vibrant souks, taking in the colorful array of spices, textiles, jewelry, and handicrafts. The market is a perfect place to soak up local culture and buy souvenirs.
After an exhilarating day filled with history and culture, you'll return to your hotel to rest and prepare for the next day's adventure.
